About Sentinel
Matthew Howard
Lead Partner
Matthew is a governance, risk and technology advisory professional with a background spanning ASX-listed companies, venture capital, enterprise technology and corporate finance. He is the Lead Partner of Sentinel Technology Risk Partners, a consultancy focused on governance, risk and compliance advisory within emerging technology and AI-driven environments.
As Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of an ASX-listed venture capital and innovation company, Matthew has worked closely with directors, investors and executive teams to establish governance structures, enterprise risk management frameworks and regulatory compliance processes across technology-focused investment and commercialisation activities. His experience includes implementation of governance and compliance frameworks aligned with ASX regulatory requirements, venture capital regulation, cyber security governance and enterprise risk management practices.
Prior to his governance career, Matthew held senior enterprise technology roles with large technology companies such as Oracle Corporation delivering complex technology solutions.
Matthew’s current focus is the intersection of governance, risk and artificial intelligence, including AI governance, operational resilience, cyber risk and responsible technology deployment. He has familiarity with emerging AI and technology governance standards and frameworks, including ISO/IEC 42001 and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, supporting organisations seeking practical and commercially grounded approaches to technology risk and AI governance.
Matthew holds a Certificate in Risk and AI (GARP), a Masters in Applied Finance and Bachelor of Commerce (Technology)
